Sarah Paterson is a consultant based in Wellington, focusing on trade and primary sector policy, strategy and collaboration.
She has worked on trade and primary sector issues for almost 20 years, initially on WTO disputes and trade negotiations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Since then Sarah has been the Trade Policy Manager for Meat & Wool New Zealand and headed Fonterra’s global Trade and Policy teams.
Highlights have included her posting to New Zealand’s Mission to the United Nations in New York, being Fonterra’s Trade Policy Manager in Europe and serving as Chair of several international agricultural industry bodies.
Sarah is currently a Director on the New Zealand Meat Board and a member of the New Zealand Army Leadership Board, and is also a Trustee of the Who Did You Help Today charitable trust.
Sarah has an LLB/BA (Hons) from the University of Otago. Outside of work Sarah is obsessed with dogs, singing and golf (if somewhat lacking in talent in the last two).
